Information

Characteristics :
White standard isophthalic brushing polyester gelcoat.
Designed as a white general purpose moulding gelcoat for hand layup use in GRP construction.
Suitable for application by brush to give an even film, free from air and drainage with excellent whiteness and opacity. Shows excellent weathering properties.

Application :
Formulated to cure at temperatures > 16°C and needs only the addition of catalyst prior to use. Medium activity methylethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) is the recommended catalyst at an addition level of 2% by weight to ensure sufficient cure at room temperature. For best results it should be applied on to a clean polished mould in one layer of 375-500 pms (microns)/0.375-0.5mm or 460-610g per square metre. Where double gelcoating cannot be avoided the first layer must be applied to a minimum thickness of 375pm (microns)/0.375mm or 460g per square metre.

Properties of Liquid Gel Coat :

Liquid properties :Pseudoplastic and thixotropic

Gel time :100gm gelcoat, 2% MEKP @ 25°C <15min

Please note - Polyester gelcoats are best used within six months from date of purchase.
