Polycraft SlowSet 15 resin is an unfilled low viscosity polyurethane resin with a long pot life designed for project that require extended working and cure times, low odour and can create hard jacket type casings for brush mould application. Due to its longer pot life it is also suitable for intricate moulds that are time consuming to pour.
Applications include : Patterns, Negatives, Castings, Models, Vacuum forming tools, prototypes etc.

Thin section castings will cure more slowly, ensure correct temperatures and enough time is given for a sufficient cure. Colder temperature can cause a variety of problems, ensuring temperatures are correct greatly reduce the risk of curing issues.
Polyurethane pigment / dyes can be used - refer to pigment / dye system for further information Due to its long pot life the SlowSet can be easily degassed / pressurised for optimal casting
Each kit will come with the same weight in each container, but part A comes with a filler powder additive, therefore increases the volume, both part A and B are different volumes, therefore the resin must be measured by equal weights, shake well before use.
Before use, be sure that Parts A and B are at room temperature and tools and moulds or models are ready to go. Surfaces and air temperature should be above 60°F during application and for the entire curing period. Use metal or plastic mixing vessels and spatulas to avoid introducing moisture (i.e.., with paper or wood tools).
Measure equal weights of part A and part B into a mixing container such as a polyethylene pail. Mix immediately, thoroughly scraping sides and bottom for one minute. Pour mix into mould cavity. Once the containers of Parts A and B are opened, they should be used or resealed tightly as atmospheric moisture contamination may cause foaming of the plastic.
This polyurethane system is recommended over polytek polyurethane if you plan to paint your cast part, plastic primer base coat is advised.
