This agent may be added up to 25g per 1 kilo of Silicone.
For those of you that prefer to us a brush-up technique when making moulds, this is a very useful additive. Most silicone compounds are designed to be poured and will run off off your model, seeking the lowest point.
Thixo tropic Agent is an additive for RTV Silicone to thicken the silicone. The liquid silicone is thickened to make it more suitable to creating certain types of moulds. With correct amounts of this agent the silicone may be smoothed on to the original.
For best results we would always recommend applying a first coat of un-thickened Silicone to create a bubble free mould.
Silicone thixo may harden and become firm in low temperatures, stand container in a hot water bath to restore to liquid form.
Silicone thixo is not suitable to be used with high temperature and food safe silicone mould making rubbers.
